After buying kratom, chances are you want to remain as potent and fresh as possible, right? If you do, there are a few do’s and don’ts related to storing your kratom supply that you need to know. Keep reading to learn what those tips are.

Keep it Cool

Even though kratom is from hotter, tropical climates, it doesn’t mean the storage of this substance is similar. In fact, if you want to ensure your kratom stash remains fresh, you should keep it cool. Cooler temperatures can help stop the alkaloids or the other active ingredients, from beginning to break down. If this happens, the kratom will be useless.

While the refrigerator is one option, it’s not the only option. However, if you do plan to use the fridge, be sure the seal on your door is intact and that there isn’t any condensation inside.

Other viable options for kratom storage include inside a cool drawer, closet, or cupboard. You can also keep it in a room with no windows and that doesn’t get warm.

Shade is a Must

In addition to not liking the heat, kratom will also shy away from the sun. If you are trying to weaken your kratom, then, by all means, put it in the sun. However, if you want it to maintain its original level of potency, keeping it out of the sun is a must.

While the places mentioned above will provide shade, you need to make sure your kratom is in a location where it won’t be exposed to the sun – at all. The more exposure your kratom has to UV rays the more it will break down. Keep in mind, it’s a cumulative effect. The more it is exposed, the weaker it will become.

Oxygen is a No-Go

Oxygen is also going to weaken your kratom. Because kratom is an organic substance, it will become stale if you expose it to oxygen. This means you need to keep it in an airtight bag or container.

This is the perfect time for your unused plastic containers to shine. However, if you don’t have any plasticware available, just use a resealable bag. The key is to make sure that no oxygen is present.

Keep it Away from “Smelly” Items

Kratom doesn’t have a smell. However, if you store it next to onions, garlic, cheese, or other items, it’s going to absorb these scents. The last thing you want is to have your kratom that smells like old cheese.

Keep it Dry

When you receive kratom, it’s dry. You need to keep it dry if you want it to work like it should. Regardless of if you purchase leaf kratom, capsules, or powder, if you get it wet, it’s not going to work.

With the tips here in mind, you should be able to keep your kratom in good usable condition. Just remember, the first step is to order the product from a reputable source, so make sure you do this.
